mdf commerce is proud to see one of its executives rewarded!

The mdf commerce team is extremely pleased to recognize the excellence of its Vice-President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary, Nicolas Vanasse, as the 2023 WINNER of the “Prix Conseiller juridique, Service juridique de Petite ou Moyenne taille (Legal Advisor Award, Small or Medium Legal Department).

The prize, presented by McCarthy Tétrault, was awarded on November 21, 2023, during a ceremony in Montreal, dubbed by many as the “Oscars of law”! Hundreds of people from the business and legal communities were in attendance.

“What to say? I can only be delighted to see Nicolas, a key element in the mdf commerce management team,
recognized this way. He was a finalist for this same award in 2014,
and now he’s leading the pack as being part of our team. Congratulations!”

says Luc Filiatreault, President and CEO of mdf commerce.

Mr. Vanasse has over 20 years of business experience, primarily in analyzing, structuring, negotiating and closing complex commercial and corporate transactions. Prior to joining mdf commerce in February 2021, his previous positions include Senior Vice-President, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary at eStruxture Inc., a data centre solutions provider, and Executive Vice-President, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary at Lumenpulse Inc. During his career, he practised business law at Stikeman Elliott, one of Canada’s largest business law firms, where he developed extensive knowledge in financing and M&A transactions on behalf of public and private companies, investors and investment banks, both in Canada and abroad.

Responding to the specialized news medium Droit-Inc.com, Nicolas Vanasse expressed his gratitude with a touch of humor: “The funny thing […] is that I had already won the “Prix du Conseiller juridique d’avenir” (Legal Advisor of the Future Award) in the past. Clearly, the judges weren’t wrong, ha ha! So, I don’t know if a ZSA Award is life-changing, but it’s definitely gratifying to see my work and that of my team recognized, I’m very pleased about that.”

Mr. Vanasse holds a Bachelor’s degree in civil law from the University of Ottawa and also studied political science and industrial relations at Laval University.

The mdf commerce team hopes to count him among its ranks for a long time to come!
Congratulations!
